Daphyne majored in bass guitar at LASALLE College of The Arts under the guidance of Christy Smith.
Her love for music blossomed when she learnt to sing and play the guitar. To pursue her love for music, she withdrew from a business diploma despite fervent objections from her parents. She fell in love with the bass guitar’s rich tones and grooving onstage with a band.
She has clinched top places in band competitions such as Clash of The Bands and XQRJ Regional Chinese Songwriting Competition with other local musicians and has played at places such as, the Esplanade Concourse, Singapore Arts Museum, Timbre, Home Club and Lowercase café.
She is delving into writing and performing her own material. She enjoys RnB, Soul & Funk. Esperanza Spalding, Corinne Bailey Rae and India Arie are some of her musical influences.
Dionne is an aspiring guitarist/ songwriter. She first developed an interest to pick up a music instrument when she chanced upon her grandfather’s mandolin. She had a three-year stint playing the saxophone when she joined the symphonic band in her secondary school years. She has now found her calling in playing the guitar.
Musically, a wide range of music influences her, including Soul, Blues, Indie & Jazz. Some of her musical heroes are Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, Kimbra & Nina Simone.
She is looking forward to writing and performing her own material in the near future.
Clement graduated with a degree from Royal Melbourne University of Technology in Visual Communications and holds a diploma in Fine Arts at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Currently, with 8 years of experience as an illustrator and designer in the creative industry, he has worked with clients from various sectors ranging from F&B to Schools to other Government projects to weddings and proposals.
During his free time, he also illustrates as Ginger and Berry on Instagram (@gingerandberry). He draws stories of a fictional life about a cat and a hedgehog and would at times also do commissioned projects.
